4-Wheel Steering project

As part of my senior capstone at the University of Texas at Arlington, I engineered a dynamic rear steering system for a Formula SAE vehicle. I developed a microcontroller-based PID control system using an ESP32 programmed in C to actuate a servo-driven rack and pinion. Real-time front and rear angle feedback enabled adaptive control based on front steering gain, enhancing maneuverability at both low and high speeds. This project emphasized closed-loop control, real-time data acquisition, and mechanical-electrical integration.


carburetor adapter for 3-71 supercharger

I designed a dual-carburetor adapter in SolidWorks to mount two 4-barrel carburetors onto a 3-71 supercharger. The casting process involved applying proper shrinkage and draft allowances, fabricating a wooden pattern, and using PetroBond sand in a homemade forge. I cast the part in aluminum, machined all mating surfaces and bolt patterns to spec, and mounted and tested it successfully. This hands-on build sharpened my skills in CAD, pattern making, and metal casting.
